Mang Caloy “The Legend” Carlos at 82, is considered the oldest Sandpaper Bat Table Tennis player in the Philippines and is also well-known for his backhand attacking style. This sport is his exercise every morning with the younger generation of players in his local club.
Using only a bare flash, I managed to document his games, especially freezing the fast back-and-forth ping pong ball. I didn’t focus on doing portraits and action but also capturing close-up details and his in-between breaks.
